About Us

Kemnay Community Bee Group (KCBG) was established by Alan Simpson, a very experienced Kemnay beekeeper in the Summer of 2014.

Local people aspiring to keep honey bees are mentored by more experienced beekeepers to help them learn and refine the mystical art of beekeeping.

The group currently has around sixteen members who meet regularly during the summer months at a small apiary site in Kemnay where novice beekeepers can gain hands on experience. (See Meetings)

New members are encouraged to attend the Aberdeen and District Beekeeping Association (ABDKA) winter lecture series and regular beekeeping talks in Kinellar Hall.

The Group’s activities complement those of ADBKA and the Tarland Bee Group who have provided valuable advice and guest speakers.
